Depending on the need of our partners in terms of strain performance and time constraints, BioTork offers two distinct types of products: Licensing and Development.
Licensing:
BioTork is continuously expanding its library of proprietary microorganisms and improving their performance. Our proprietary microorganisms have been developed to address strategic needs within the industry of bio-based chemicals such as low cost feedstock and simpler fermentation processes. They are scale-up ready and adaptable to the specific conditions of the partners’ industrial processes. License agreements with BioTork include fees and volume based royalties.
Development:
BioTork also offers development services to partners that have their own proprietary strains but are interested in improving one trait or more in these strains for a specific purpose. Traits that BioTork has expertise improving include, but are not limited to: growth rate, doubling time, temperature, toxicity and substrate costs. Please check our technology page for more details. Development services with BioTork include fees, royalties and possibly exclusivity fees.
